Literary Speed Dating
What is literary speed dating?
It’s like regular speed dating, but for writers looking for new literary friends, or creative collaborators rather than romantic love.
I first ran a speed dating session way back in 2011, as part of Pistols & Pollinators. Pistols & Pollinators was a project I ran with the artist Ellie Howitt, where we paired artists and poets to work collaboratively towards an exhibition. Speed dating was a way for the artists and writers to get a sense of who they would like to work with.
I’ve run other session where the aim is social,
The photographs below show the Pistols & Pollinator speed dating session from 2012.
I’m incredibly grateful to Jacqueline Saphra and Katrina Naomi who were instrumental in persuading so many great poets to take part.
